OUR FOUNDER
Mr. Jesús María Romo Romo was born on May 24, 1918 in the municipality of Encarnación de Díaz Jalisco, and changed his residence to the city of Aguascalientes at the age of 6.
He married Miss S. Ma. Del Carmen del Villar García and procreated their only son: Jesús Fernando Romo del Villar.
From a very young age he was restless, orderly, disciplined, enthusiastic, with great initiative and enormous business vision.
A los 21 años inició un pequeño taller de niquelado junto con su hermano Juan María y su papá el Sr. Jesús María Romo.
After a family arrangement he became the sole owner of the business. This event marked an important stage in the development of the company, when Don Jesús implemented his personal business philosophy, an example of this was the development of an internal work regulation, establish order, cleanliness and apply an unwavering discipline to achieve greater productivity
The young Jesus Fernando became his right arm and was for him a solid start in the daily struggle. They expanded the factory, improved the existing machinery, opened up more sources of employment.
The entrepreneurial vision of both was decisive for the manufacture of equipment for commerce; In 1963 the first gondolas with shelves were manufactured manually and had great acceptance and demand in the trade; For this reason they traveled abroad to buy specialized machinery that made it easier for them to manufacture in series and with higher quality.
The new machinery allowed to perfect the existing models and created more products to exhibit any type of merchandise, in addition they introduced the solid and practical shelving for warehouse; The acceptance and demand were optimal and in 1965 they equipped the first self-service store.
In April 1972, JM Romo participated in the XII Ibero-American Trade Fair, held in Seville Spain, also traveled to Germany to visit the World Machinery Expo, where they acquired the most modern equipment for the application of epoxy powder paint for metal parts giving it a different finish, with versatility in colors and excellent quality to the products.
Between 1968 and 1973 they opened 5 showrooms and sales in strategic cities of Mexico, to serve their customers more efficiently and promptly.
On June 24, 1974, Mr. Jesús Fernando Romo del Villar died of natural causes; This event was a watershed in the vision of Don Jesús María and his wife, since instead of abandoning themselves, they regained strength and found in dedication to work and service to others an incentive to live with fullness and joy.
On February 3, 1975, Mrs. Carmelita del Villar and Don Jesús María founded the Family Improvement Center, which aims to provide training to the wives and direct relatives of the collaborators, seeking with it a better standard of living.
In 1981 the construction of the civil works of the recreational park that now bears his name begins, with 35,000 square meters right in front of the company, which houses training, sports, recreational and cultural facilities, exclusive for workers and their families.
Among the things that the park has are: Training school for wives of collaborators, community plaza, slide, pool, basketball court with duela, gym, martial arts room, party room, theater, billiards, square for food and shows, a castle, music theaters and a clubhouse.
Among the attractions are: Cable car, little train, Ferris wheel, bumper cars, helicopters, skateboards, children's game carousel, go-cars, ping-pong, board games, foosball, prehistoric tour, mechanical bull, electronic machines and boats.
Mr. Jesús María forged a solid industrial company, unique in its kind, with its own technology and advanced production systems, maintaining high levels of quality and self-sufficiency in most of its parts and finishes, in this way its factory grew and consolidated; He never shied away from responsibilities, on the contrary, he always faced challenges with energy, determination and responsibility.
His particular and persuasive business philosophy triggered a series of visits by important personalities to the plant such as presidents of the republic, artists and a large number of businessmen, who wanted to know his ideology and his successful business.
He received several awards from government, business, local, national and international
Mr. Jesus Maria was a healthy, simple, restless, hardworking, orderly, enterprising, disciplined, visionary, upright man, he valued righteousness very much and one of his favorite phrases was "A gram of loyalty is worth a kilo of liveliness", his philosophy was to do things once, but do them well, he liked challenges and greatly enjoyed everything he did, even if they were simple things like driving your favorite vehicle, water skiing, eating an ice popsi; but above all to share what he had with those around him. He was a big man because he never lost the ground........
On February 18, 1990, he died of an inevitable illness that undermined the strength of a noble human being, who from a young age fought with courage in body and soul, as an apostle of work based on the strength of his arms and permanent clarity of his thought, forging with great zeal a business emporium that guided until the last moment of his life.
Currently the company continues to work under the business philosophy of its founder: expanding its facilities, innovating products, seeking new markets and continues to be a socially responsible company that not only focuses on the well-being of its employees and their family, but also helps preserve the environment. Congratulations on being part of this great community.
